Did anyone else get mail? Congratulations Ryan and Omnia!!

In the Footsteps of Giants: Nellie McClung and the Famous Five

Students have been reading stories about Alberta to learn more about our past. One of the stories read was, Nellie McClung and the Famous Five. Students practiced the skills of predicting, questioning, and summarizing the key points. Students are in the process of drawing pictures to help illustrate the key points from the story. The final step will be to put the key points and the illustrations together to create an iMovie to share with the class. We are excited to see how the movies turn out.

Wishtree Wishes

Students have listened to the story, Wishtree, by Katherine Applegate. They identified key information including the beginning, characters, problem, middle, message/lesson, and end. They shared that Red took a chance when she spoke to Stephen and Samar; something a tree is not allowed to do. Ms. Jenn painted a beautiful tree for students to share their wishes. The next time you are in the school, pop by the classroom and look for our wishtree in our windows.
